Last year, for International Women’s Day, Responsible Investor launched its inaugural Women in Finance survey as the centrepiece of a week of coverage on the challenges faced by women in the investment industry.
Nearly 100 women from across the industry responded, providing input on topics including career progression, inclusivity and barriers to progress.
The results made sobering, if unsurprising, reading. The clear message was that women are not happy with the state of play.
Respondents expressed frustration about the persistence of negative stereotypes, the failure to adapt workplaces to women’s needs and the lack of change in the senior echelons.
One year on, we want to hear the industry’s thoughts again.
The key topics that emerged last year, including parental leave and caring responsibilities, the old boys’ club, and career progression, are all covered in this year’s survey.
We will be running the survey on an annual basis to track progress. We appreciate that this is a sensitive issue, so it is fully anonymised.
Finally, if you would like to talk about any of these issues in more detail, on the record or on background, please email us at edit@responsible-investor.com. All communications are confidential.
We will publish the results of the survey on International Women’s Day, Friday 8 March.
